Renewed Interest in Tangles

Recently I've renewed my interest in tangles. My goal, as of this writing & that may change, is to do a tangle a day for a while, several weeks or months, then collect them into a book of some kind.  We'll see how that goes. So here the latest tangles, from Saturday, yesterday and today. Enjoy there will be more.

New Tangle Quilt Books I Found

I found these 2 books at. my local quilt shop, bought them decided to give it another try soon . Even though I attempted a tangle quilt in the past, it didn't turn out quite like I expected. What I did wrong was not starting the stitching in the middle of the project & it bunched up. now that I know what the mistake was I can correct it in future projects. These are the two books I found that use exactly the same method I began with. Sorry that the pics are sideways, my IPad threw a fit while taking them.
These books not only show how to make a tangle, they also give quilting instructions and offer sample projects for the reader to use. Maybe some day I'll write a similar book, who knows.

Valentines Day Tangle

Tangles, I find, are very similar to quilting motifs, the difference being that quilting motifs are not filled in the way tangles are. I "borrowed" this quilting motif & turned it into a tangle. Since it contained hearts I thought it's be perfect for Valentines Day.

Snow is today's tangle

Its snowing like this at my house now. Snowflakes as big as quarters now. It snowed like this 32 years ago, the day my son was born. Guess what today is? His birthday. Talk about deja Vu.

New idea for Using Zentangles

I found this online & thought it was cool. http://creatingthehive.com/blog-post/71679/zentangle-for-a-zaturday. I'd never thought about doing zentangles this way till i saw it.
